| Elroy is a city of 1600 with three trails
beginning or ending there - The Elroy-Sparta State Trail, The 400 State Trail and The
Juneau County Omaha Trail. Elroy offers a friendly
welcome to all bikers with a special invitation to visit the Commons - a lovely downtown
city park. Built in 1991, the Commons provides a trailshop and information center,
restrooms with shower facilities, pay phone, parking, bike rentals, picnic area and tot
lot.
Elroy has many fine businesses to assist you, such as
restaurants, motel, bed and breakfasts, grocery stores, banks, gift shops, an art gallery
and nearby bike repair shop. Other sites of interest are the Elroy Area Historical Museum
and the Elroy Carnegie Library.
While in Elroy you may want to ride across our
Sesqicentennial pedestrian covered bridge. This is the only open lattice truss town bridge
in the State. The design was patented in 1820.
The Schultz City Park on the south edge of town has
facilities for tent camping, R.V. electrical hookups, a swimming pool and playground.
